It would almost be exhausting to list. The feet I've had to kiss -- the egos I have had to soothe to gain the slightest bit of favor. To have them on my side.
While the likes of you, I assume, would prefer to be freely given what you feel you deserve.
The only thing we ever wanted was to be allowed to live. To be treated as humans—paying tax was fine, until they taxed us to the point that we could not survive. Being ostracized was fine, until they started to torture us for entertainment, as punishment for our differing faiths.
To do the hard labor of working for our food, of building our own shelters—that would all have been fine, were we allowed to do so in peace.
Is that too much to ask for? Do we not deserve to be treated as human? To be allowed to live, without having our own hard earnings taken away from us to such a degree that we would starve—only for that demand to grow, while we suffered?
The countless hours of work they did—the countless times we were scorned, made animals to jeer at, the countless number of people who simply tried to live, only to lose their lives because—what?
Just what differentiates us? The feet we've had to kiss, the times we've had to bow—not for any favor, but simply to be allowed to exist—
Just what makes you different? Just how did we ask for too much?
If only I could spread my scourge here as I did at home. I can only imagine how much of a relief it would be with you -- to be plagued with these thoughts, those memories.
It would be far preferable to lose yourself, wouldn't it? To mindless bloodthirst, only heeding my call.
. . . Nothing at all—I only wanted to hear you say with your own words that you are a liar.
[ abruptly stopping, or rather changing direction, revving the chainsaw with one hand and swinging it up at him (i rolled a 0 at first and then a 5 so you are free to either take the hit or ignore the roll and do whatever idk he could just at cutting him whatsoever. secret passages are probably narrow) ]
[ he stumbles back JUST IN TIME!! to avoid that initial swing, with a low "tut" ]
At least I am honest in my intentions.
[ this is danger against a man with a chainsaw but he's trying to sweep his foot at Lucifel's, at least unbalance him enough he can step forward himself more securely, knife in hand ]
[ he is "jabbed" -- unfortunately a jab with a chainsaw is not really a friendly thing and it digs in through cloth and flesh; with a hiss he stays close but tries to drive the knife down into Lucifel's arm or hand holding the chainsaw ]
[ trying to keep this here means he is definitely stabbed in the arm, and he winces, letting go of the chainsaw but also just trying to fucking kick it into absinthe, or perhaps knock him down with it ]
