[He is allowed! At first Thancred flinches, but after that instant if stiffness he turns and puts his arms around Noah to hold on tight.

He buries his face in Noah's hair, quieting a little -- it's hard to tell if he's laughing or crying at this point. Even he doesn't know.]

So rather than fall apart he's forcing himself to smile like normal.]
