He steps inside, nodding his head slightly to Absinthe as he crosses the threshold.]

[ he takes a a wine glass, filling it with water before he waves his hand; it turns into a deep red pinot noir, setting it down on the bar in front of Intensity ]

Well, despite our rocky start I'd already met several of them, and gotten rather favorable impressions of them.

And I thought they'd appreciate my offering the opportunity after I hurt their poor feelings.

A trip to Heaven at the behest of a Prince is not what I would consider a peace offering. But maybe you know better than I.

How did Azzy know about the rift?

[This time he does take a sip of his drink as he watches Absinthe's response carefully]

That is among the information I'm not privy too. He does seem to be a popular enough fellow -- I'm assuming he has informants.

I told him of the second hand reports of what was inside, but the rift itself - - it seems he already knew of it. And that is no lie, but I can certainly understand your suspicions.

And this backdoor - it goes to that place?

And if your little scouting party runs into Mehniel. Do you have any specific orders around that?

Not at all. I've made him aware it seemed fully deserted, but not that there was one left behind.

Is that an educated guess you're making? I truthfully don't know what he wants from inside there.

In one of the living quarters we wandered into, there was the outline of something that used to be there that wasn't. Something brought in from outside of Heaven.

I couldn't tell you much more than that besides it left the outline of a flower behind.
